DBU is Reader's Choice for Application Development APEX Award

Omaha, Nebraska - April 15, 2002

Penton Technology Media, a division of Penton Media, Inc., (NYSE: PME) announced today the 13 winners of the first annual iSeries NEWS Apex Awards. Winners were announced at Spring COMMON 2002 in Nashville, Tennessee.

"The Apex Awards recognize industry leaders who have made valuable contributions to their customers and the market," said Wayne Madden, publisher of iSeries NEWS. "The field included more than 100 entries and the judging process was rigorous."

The winner in the Application Development Readers' Choice category is Prodata Systems, Inc. for DBU 6.0. Prodata's DBU is a database utility that lets you change, delete, and display records in a file without having to create a program.

DBU 6.0, the first database utility to offer access to iSeries DB2 data thru multiple methods under one umbrella, transcends the boundaries of a typical 'file editor'. Users have the choice between a DBU/GUI(client), the traditional green screen version(server), or thru the Operations Navigator plug-in. Using any of these interfaces, a user can improve productivity by easily accessing database files for research, file maintenance or other services they need to get their job done while significantly reducing time and cost.
